Fijian-owned micro and small tourism businesses can now apply for grant funding of up to $25,000 to improve their products, services and visitor experiences.
Applications for the Pilot Tourism Micro and Small Enterprise Fund for the 2026–2027 financial year are open from 12 August to 30 September 2026.
The initiative, administered through the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, provides financial assistance to help eligible tourism businesses grow, diversify their offerings and improve the experiences available to visitors.

The
Funding is available up to:
- $15,000 for Micro Enterprises
- $25,000 for Small Enterprises
The Fund can support projects including improvements to tourism products and experiences, website upgrades and other visibility initiatives, technology that enhances visitor experiences, visitor amenities and signage, small-scale infrastructure such as trails, accessibility improvements, culture and heritage experiences, environmentally sustainable tourism, agritourism and wellness initiatives.
To be eligible, applicants must be Fijian citizens aged 18 years or above and operate a registered business that has been operating for at least two years. The business must be at least 51 per cent Fijian-owned, earn the majority of its revenue from tourism activities and be able to contribute one-third of the project cost.
Applications can be submitted online or in person at the Ministry’s offices in Suva, Nadi and Savusavu.

PILOT TOURISM MICRO AND SMALL ENTERPRISES FUND
The Pilot Tourism Micro and Small Enterprise Fund is an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, continuing its mission to empower tourism MSMEs through targeted grant support.

WHO CAN APPLY
- Fijian citizens of 18 years of age and above;
- Existing registered business in operation for two years;
- Majority Fijian-owned (at least 51%);
- Engaged in tourism where the majority share of revenue comes from the tourism sector; and
- Ability to meet one-third of project costs.
ELIGIBLE PROPOSALS
We are looking to support a range of tourism experiences that add value to the local economy. The Pilot Tourism Micro and Small Enterprise Fund supports capital and operational projects, including:
- Improving and diversifying tourism products and experiences
- Increasing visibility and marketing (e.g. website upgrades)
- Adopting technology to enhance visitor experiences
- Enhancing visitor amenities (e.g. seating areas and signage)
- Small-scale infrastructure (e.g. trails)
Projects that align with the following tourism activities and experiences are encouraged:
- Cultural and heritage experiences
- Environmentally sustainable tourism (e.g. birdwatching and trekking)
- Nature-based tourism in forests, reefs, and other natural areas
- Accessibility improvements (e.g. trails and signage)
- Upgrading and rejuvenating heritage sites
- Niche tourism, including agritourism and wellness
Please note that the following will NOT be eligible for funding:
- Debt refinancing (including Finance Hub)
- High-risk equipment, including generic motor vehicles (eg. Vehicles)
- Non-enterprise activities
- Proposals from civil servants
- Businesses with annual turnover exceeding $300,000
- Large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g. roads, land preparation, evacuation centers, jetties), except approved utility upgrades on a case-by-case basis
- Costs related to regulatory approvals or compliance requirements
- Projects that do not comply with Fiji laws and regulations
- Activities unrelated to tourism development
- Projects without clear objectives or demonstrated feasibility
- Projects that have received Government grants within the past 3 years (exceptions may apply where previous funding was properly utilized)
